I hope each of you have a wonderful new Years. I'm not sure if I'll be back on before then. I'm checking out for a night at the lake, dinner with friends, and a party at the duplex. :) Best part: I get to be with Fordy and the besties.

My sweet friend Han is probably one of the most creative people I know!! This past weekend she "helped" me make envelope pillow cases for my living room. I cut and pinned she worked the sewing machine.

A little gift

Okay, yes, I know I said I wouldn't buy anything for myself this month, but I couldn't help it!! I bought some carnations yesterday and put some cranberries in the vase. Isn't it a cute festive arrangement?!

I love fresh flowers and they totally bring a smile to my face. The best part is the price! It was only four dollars!!!

Santiago Huckleberry

Isn't that one of the coolest names you have ever heard?!?!?! Really it sounds like i'ts the name of a great adventurer who has sailed the seven seas, found treasures in pyramids, and conquered great nations.

In reality it's the name of my new fave candle my sweet roomie gave me for Christmas! :) I may name my next dog after this candle, and he or she can explore the great unknown of what ever city or country I may be living in at that time.

Seriously, this candle is wonderful!! I'm burning the candle as I spend a relaxing day off of work, but it smells like adventure and life.

Here is the Roomie Christmas Tree with presents. Mel also got all of noise putty. Who knew putty that makes fart noise could bring great entertainment to three girls.

Christmas Time is Here!!

Christms time is here and that means I get to listen to Christmas music all day everyday, warm smells of cinnamon and cookies are everywhere, and remembering why we are able to celebrate this holiday. My favorite Christmas carol is, O Holy Night, because it shares the love of Jesus and why he came to earth. .

Truly He taught us to love one another;

His law is love and His gospel is peace.

Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;

And in His name all oppression shall cease.

Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,

This past Sunday the my roomies, Fordy and I ushered in the holiday spirit. We strung popcorn and cranberries, watched Christmas movies, and sipped on hot chocolate. I love the girls I live with and how we have made our little duplex a home.

November, you were fun!

Wow, where did this month go?! Here we are less than a moth away from Christmas and my little corazon can hardly take it!

This month I celebrated my "Waco mom" birthday. Mich is a woman of joy, grace, patience, love and fun. She has shown and taught me so much about the Mother heart of God. I have learned so much from this woman and will never ever be able to thank her enough.

I also got a special visit from Katie and Ani that included girl talk til 3 am, the three of us sharing a bed, and waking up at 7. I am so thankful for these ladies. The next morning we were up early to go to San Marcos to celebrate EAH!!! It was so gun to see Lisa and her sweet baby! Lisa and her hubby Dick, aka Mr Herman, have been walking with my sweet family though the good, bad, and everything in between the past 9 years. This little girl is def a sweet promise of the Lord fulfilled.

Later in the month I had the sweet honor of planning the wedding for my sweet friends Emily and Adam. I was in Elevate with them both and have been along for the journey of two friends meeting, dating, getting engaged and now married!! The wedding day was a hectic with one, because it fell on the boy's birthday, but totallt a  BLAST! The whole event I felt so alive and pray I can do more weddings in the future.


This thanksgiving I was in Waco and oh how I am thankful. I was able to spend the day with the brown bear, his parents, and the Smiths. I'm so thankful for family who live in the same city! My sweet padre came in that evening and we watch the UT Longhorns win against the Aggies.

The Goodness of the Lord

The Goodness of the Lord is how I will describe my 24th year of my life. The year started off living with an amazing family, a roommate who loved me well, a job where I learned how to lead and be direct, and with a soft and bruised heart.

The 24th year of my life has definitely been a year of blessings & joys. Sometimes the b&j were easy to see and feel and other times not so much. Somedays were filled with the abundant joy and hope of my Savior and other days I just walked in faith God had something more for me.

Many times during the year I heard God speak "I'm preparing something great for you." Wow. Something great for me? No way. Then in my little human mind I tried to think "what?". First I thought it was to leave Waco and move to the beautiful city I'm visiting right now, Raleigh, NC, but that wasn't it. Through that journey I knew God had good plans for me. He asked me to stay in waco til at least June 2012 and his word is my foundation and I stayed.

Then the Lord told me to start looking for a new job. A new job in Waco, really? I knew I wanted a new job, but it would be so heard to leave my boss and his family. I felt like that would be the most difficult to find. No, I found one and started within a month. Now, I work at a place that is life giving, fast paced, and filled with women who encourage me daily.

My 24th year was also the year I learned to totally trust God for the best of my life...in everything. The 23rd year ended with many tears and believing lies I was not worthy of being pursued. Believing the lie of always being second best. Believing the lie that God had good things and promises for his other children, but not me. Through the year God totally dismissed all those lies and gave me truth. He pursued me relentlessly the same way he pursues his church. He showed me how I am his first choice and I recounted the promises he has given me and I have seen fruit. The Joy of the Lord is my strength and he is not even capable of lying (Hebrews 6).

The same way Jesus has pursued me I have seen a glimpse on earth. I am now dating a sweet man who is a dear friend. A friend who has seen me make tough decisions, lead, cry and have fun. He has pursued me so well and honors me in everything he does. I never knew I could laugh as much as I do when I am with him. I am excited what God has in store for us and know no matter what happen he works everything together for the good of his Kingdom.

The 24th year I felt more knitted into my family...thank Sissy and Aaron who have loved me well through all the tars and times of weakness. I am honored to have put a stake in the ground in Waco and the people who live there and helped me widen my tents, because they have been my covering. Whether its the Owen's, Hoppe's, Brannon's, Clause's, and my Lifegroup family who have taught me to love well and tenderly and to be rebuked tenderly and repent humbly. I have seen restoration in lives this year..mine and other.

I am thankful for a dad who still offered to come down and kick butt for me, a mom who always makes sure I have everything I need, and a sissy who finds the joy in everything and a SWEET nephew who is marked my joy, patience, and peace.

 So here I am closing the 24th chapter of my life. You have been a blast. You have the faithfulness of the Lord written all over you. To my 25th, I'm excited for what you have in store for me. I'm excited to know God in a more deeper way, because that's the only place I'm going with him.

 I love the way God will give you revelation in small or big ways. I was talking to my dad this week about "adult things", like insurance and benefits. I have the Best Friends ever

Last Thursday was my last day at belle. To celebrate my two friends, Hana and Erin, through me a little party. Words cannot express how thankful I am for these two wonderful ladies.

Hana has been a constant friend and loves well. She and my two sisters are the only people I share everything with and so thankful to able to walk this journey with her.

Erin is a joy to be around. She is able to see people the way Jesus sees them. She is ready for a good time and laugh all the time. We worked for a week together and it was so much fun. We talked and laughed the whole time.

The night consisted of wine, snacks, and many laughs.I'm so happy to have friends to celebrate with and cheer each other on.

Green thumb

I am really wanting to start growing my own herbs. I think it would be so fun to be able to pick my own basil, cilantro, and rosemary. I made homemade basil pesto least night, and I thought to myself "It would be so mice to have my own bail plant". Basil is so expensive at the store. I think I'm going to start researching how to garden.

Winnie the Pooh

Sunday, I joined the Brannons and Liz to go see the Winnie the Pooh movie. When I saw the preview for Pooh I text LA to ask if I could go with them if they were planning to go see the movie. It was NB first movie, and he was SO excited!!! Zooey Deschanel sings the theme song and a few other song in the movie. Here is one of the songs:



I was so excited to hear her voice. The Movie is really cute and brought back so many memories. I can't wait til my Brown Bear is big enough so I can take him to the movies.

I can't believe Broey is this big already. I've been his babysitter for the past two years. He was a baby back then, but now is talking, walking, and is the most lovable two year old!

Tour

Here is my living room. It's almost finished!!!

First is out built in book cases. So classic.

Here are pictures of the Fire place. The small birdcage is from a friend's baby shower, the bird is from my sissy, roomie's vase, books and my "freak out" project, and my special lamp. My grandpa gave this beautiful lamp to my grandmother. This mirror is my craigslist find painted a new color. 

The candle sticks were on sale and spray painted a soft green.

The next piece belonged to my maternal grandparents. The table use to be a side table in their house. It was originally a dark brown that came right out of the 70's, but my dad and I found this great blue. I kept the knobs the original color, and love it. I think it's so cool I have pieces from both sets of grandparents in my new home.

 

 Here is my other refurbish piece. A friend of mine was raising money for a mission trip to NW africa. I saw this drink cart and knew I had to have it. i brought it home spray painted it gold and know its a side table. I found the rotary phone in San Antonio and I love antique white vases.

Projects Galore

Moving into a new place means their are DIY's galore. The latest, but not the first I will be posting about, is my "freak out" project. Tonight, I had a emotional night of a sort, but thankful for Jesus and friends.

I needed a a project so I rummaged through my closet. I had a vase and twine and ended up with this.

Then decided to work on my mantle.

San Antonio Weekend Part 1

This past weekend I went to San Antonio and it was so much fun! My sister just moved there for her new job and  it was so nice to be with her.

Friday, I got in late and my sister made me balsamic chicken and a salad. Saturday, we slept in a little late, got ready for the say, then went to Antique Shopping. My sister found a cute side table a window frame to hang in her room. I found a mirror, an copy of "The Lone Ranger", and a old turquoise rotary phone.

We then went to the Quarry and bought some new pillows. I have been needing new pillows, becasue they are a little flat, so it was perfect timing. We also went to Whole Foods and had so much fun. We were able to try so many yummy foods and they were all organic. For lunch our friend, Christina, came over and we met at Chris Madrid's.

I saw an old college friend, Trey, and it was such a treat. I would high;y reccommend Chris madrid's the next time you are in SA!

Dear Mr. who loves Jesus and has enough character for me to want to share the rest of my life on earth with,

I am not a fan of red roses, actually I despise them. I love pink, white and orange roses. My favorite flowers are hydrangeas or wild flowers.

I am super close with my family, and praying you can be besties with the brother in law.

I love good food and would rather cook dinner than eat out. I believe a meal should be an experience and not something that should be rushed. I love desserts with fruit or chocolate. I think a cup of coffee can make any situation a little better.

I have fallen in love deeply with a man named Jesus. He has showered me with his love and kindness. He has taken me from a life of loneliness and despair and has given me joy. He is my father, friend, protector, and beloved. I know you will be a man of great honor and integrity after his heart.

As of right now there is an abundance source of Starburst and Dove Chocolate in my house. Thanks to bro's bro I have a large box Starburst under my bed and chocolate in the freezer. I'm using two vases as candy jars to keep in the living room on our mantle. This should last all summer!!!
