Crest C3

Sorry for the leave of absence. My Internet is down at my apartment, so I come to a local coffee shop to blog. I don't have much time today, because I have to go to work :( :). It's a love/hate relationship..HA!!

I attend Tree of Life in New Braunfels, and for the month of June, we are doing the ONE Prayer movement. It's where we watch sermons from different churches from around the US. There are over 1,888 churches involved, Approximately 1,043,232 in total attendance!! Yesterday we heard a message, by the founder of the ONE prayer movement, Craig Groeschel. He spoke about GOD IS LOVE!! It was so good. I am still going over my notes! Yesterday's service brought me to tears! It's so great when you are in the presence of God, and his Spirit is SO THICK, you can cut it with a knife! GOOSE BUMPS!!

Just wanted to share that real fast.

Crest C3, was my Marketing Capstone group. If you were a part of my life this semester, you probably know I was with this group almost everyday after Spring break. We waited to the very end to start on the project! Dr. B had faith in us somehow.

The project was for us to invent a product and come up with a marketing campaign for the product. So we created Crest Gum called, C3, which had Calcium supplements in it. We made a box, advertisements, and a commercial. Needless to say, we won the competition. This group made me shed so many ears of frustration, but at the same time, made me laugh to where my stomach hurt.

The day of our presentation I was so sick! I had a fever, body aches, and vomiting the whole morning. Let's say I was not u to Par. I was freaking out, because this was the biggest presentation of my college career. It was also the time of the BIG Swine Flu freak out, so I had my mom, dad, and aunt Sara calling me every hour to see how I was feeling

It's kinda funny, the people who meet in college. I didn't know any of these people before this year, minus Juan. Yet still, I will remember for the rest of my life.

WICKED!!!

This past Sunday, after the George Strait concert, we rushed back to San Antonio for the musical Wicked!!

The tickets were a gift for graduation. I went with Danielle, Christina, and The Trejos. I had heard of Wicked when it first came out, but became a fan when I was freshman in college. Valerie Morby gave me the soundtrack for my 19th birthday and I turned my friends on to the show after that!

The set was amazing, the actors had awesome voices. I was scared the whole time I would be comparing the actresses who played Elphaba and Glinda to Indina and Kristin, but they were so good. I felt like a little girl watching a dream. I caught myself with my arms resting on my knees while I watched the performance.

The show was so spectacular. The whole time I couldn't believe I was actually there. Some parts were so moving I was brought to tears! I cannot believe how good it was! It felt as if I was 'Defying Gravity', haha. The dialogue was so funny! I laughed so much!

If you haven't seen the show you must go! I want to see it again if I had the money!

After the show we walked downtown. It was so pretty on Sunday! It was fun walking around dressed up!
This day was a great end to the weekend! I was so tired after this weekend! Monday I didn't do anything! I was sore from driving, walking in heels, but wouldn't trade it for anything. Dreams really do come true, and because of that I will dance through Life.

This weekend I also lost a dear friend, ET, she went to be with Jesus on Saturday morning. I am thankful to have the love of my Father, God, knowing she is safe in his arms. I don't know why these things happen, but trust she is with him. I will always remember the times I had at GAP with her, the times she drove me to school, and how she would always scare me when I would run down Post Road and she would honk. I heard Alan Jackson's song "Sissy's Song" and it made me think of her.

GEORGE STRAIT AND WICKED!!

This past weekend has to be one weekend that will go down in the Books! My twin sister, Danielle, and I made a tour through Texas.

Last Monday Danielle called me very excited saying she won tickets to the George Strait concert at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium!! If you know either of us you would know how much we love King George, yes we call him King George! We were both shocked that she won the tickets! She won a gas card, two tickets, and a hotel stay!! AAAHH!!!

Friday we drove to Waco to spend some time with Elise and Aaron. I was able to drop off some of my things. We went swimming at the Brannon's community pool and had Katie's custard...YUM! I also met the newest addition the Brannon family, little Noah is so cute and big brother Elijah Tate ( Meester) is adorable. I can't wait to hang out with them when I move to Waco!!

Saturday morning we all go up early to support Elise as she ran her first 5K! I have pics, but they are on my phone. I'll try to get them up here! I was so proud of her, she beat her time by SIX MINUTES!! YAY! I'm so proud of her. Afterwards, we all ate breakfast at Panera Bread, my new favorite place to get bagels. I was able to meet Jimmy Seibert, who is the head pastor at Antioch.

We then headed home and Danielle and I got ready to drive to Dallas. Man, driving there is quite an experience. I don't think I have been scared for my life until then! We finally made it to our hotel, which was so NICE! We had to get ready for the concert kinda fast. We made it to the stadium pretty fast, but once we got there we were shocked by how many people were there! Also, by parking, we had to park by the Rangers Stadium! It was quite a walk, but we were saved by a guy selling water. He gave us a discount, we are just too cute..HA!!

Well, here is a pic of the new stadium; I hope my boys(the Dallas Cowboys) can get to the Super Bowl this year!! Here is Danielle and our golden tickets!!

Danielle and I decided to take out time to get to the concert, because Julianne Hough was supposed to open and we are not fans of her music. Well, much to our surprise when we walked in, LeeAnn Womack, was singing! Danielle and I were so surprised we ran in! Julianne got sick so Ms. Womack stepped in and took her place, THANK YOU!! She did such a good job!
The next act was Mr. Blake Shelton! I must say country stars really know how to perform live. Most of them sound better live than on the actual record(except Taylor Swift). He was so funny, great entertainer, and does a funny impersonation of George Strait. He made my sister and melt a couple of times..HA!! I like his version of "home" more than Michael Buble's version. Miranda Lambert is one lucky girl!!

After Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, the Queen of Country, was next in line. She was so funny and has the best facial expressions! One of my earliest memories of Reba was her video for "Why haven't I heard from You", that song made Danielle and I sing along. She left the stage without singing "Fancy". I was so upset. So I started saying to my sister" Fancy, Fancy, Fancy" like in the video. Then all of a sudden you here the starting chords of Fancy and Reba comes out in a red dress! It was so COOL!
Then, the Moment we all waited for the one and only King George came on!!
When he came out his band, "Ace In The Hole", played "Deep in the Heart of Texas" love that song!
After his second song he was talking about how excited and horored he was to have the first concert at the new Cowboy Stadium. Then he asked the crowd, "Isn't this roof suppose to open?" We all get really excited. Jerry Jones was there and he said he should have a key he can use to open the roof. So he said "Open the roof Jerry, Open the roof Jerry", then got the whole crowd to start cheering with him! It was so awesome! My sister does a funny impersonation! It was so cool to be part of history. First concert, first time to see the roof to be opened! It takes about 12 minutes for the roof to be opened entirely! It was funny to see so many people taking pictures of a roof being opened. I think I got 5! HA! George performed some of my favorites, The Chair, Check Yes or No, Amarillo by morning, Texas, River of Love. I almost missed Amarillo Morning. I had so much singing along with my sis and dancing with the little room we had.Back in Amarillo, my dad has a video of us dancing to George Strait, when he was on Austin city Limits(the show).

George Strait is also an alum of Texas state or SWT! About three of his band members are from San Marcos!

I must say George is in good shape for his age and didn't really have a lot of gray hair! He came back out for an encore and through his hat out after his last song! His last song was "The Cowboy Rides Away", which was such a great way to end the show! I think I cried...don't make fun! GREAT END TO A GREAT NIGHT!!
We made back to our hotel around 1am! the bed was so comfy, but I couldn't fall asleep I was so wired! We slept for five hours and had to get to San Antonio for Wicked!!

Graduation FIESTA!!

Well, the day after graduation my two sisters,Desiree, Kelsey, Katie, bro-in law, and myself all went floating. We went to New Braunfels to float the Guadalupe River. This was Kelsey's first time to float the river. We were ready to float the three hours in the warm relaxing sun.

About 30 minutes into our float dark clouds started to gather over us and it started to RAIN, THUNDER, & LIGHTENING! There went our relaxing afternoon! Des and I left the group to get done with the float. I actually pulled Des for a good while! It was so cold, I got in the water and swam in my tube!

After the float Kelsey, Danielle, Des, and I drove to my aunt Lollie's and grandma's to get ready for my graduation dinner. The whole way I had to drive in the rain while Kelsey took a nap.

I felt so loved having my whole family pitch in to make me a dinner. My dad, aunt Lollie, aunt Ruth, grandma, and aunt Kiki made food all day! Enchiladas, fajitas, guacamole, beans, and rice. My cousin Christina made a really Good bean-avocado dip..YUMMY!! My aunt Lele ordered a cake and felt so bad, because the bakery didn't have my school colors. She is so cute!

I had so much fun with everyone who made it out! Loved all the food and gifts!!

Graduation.....Part Two!

On 15 th I graduated from college and also got baptized!!

I was baptized when I was a baby, but wanted to be baptized through immersion. I knew my walk was getting deeper with God and going to new places I have never been before. I knew I was saved, but I wanted to live out as anexample of Christ, like Jesus did so many years ago. I think that's an important part about being a disciple and follower of Christ. If we are called "Christians" or "little christian" we should be walking the same steps he did.

I know my walk is not perfect, and I'm NOT perfect, but I want to be close to him as possible. Learn from him and hear from him daily.

It was very important to me for my family to be there, so Graduation weekend was perfect.

I was baptized by my college pastor, Dick Herman, who him and his wife have played a BIG part in my college days at Texas State. It was nice to have my Chi Alpha Family there too. Patrick led worship for us, which was so sweet and beautiful. My roommate Ashley came out, which met a lot to me.

My grandma and Aunt Kiki also were there. They both gave me beautiful words afterwards. My grandma has to be the closest thing to Jesus on Earth. She has the sweetest soul. I have never heard her speak ill about anyone. She is always there with an encouraging word, a hug and kiss, and always ready to feed anyone. I strive to be like her everyday.

GRADUATION!!

I can't believe I made it! I never thought I would actually graduate from college! When I told my dad this he asked why, then said there was never doubt in his mind. I knew I was smart enough to finish; and I love my Major, but I never saw myself or could see what life is like after college. I also thought Jesus would have came back already or something. Now, that I'm here I can't wait to see what happens!

Friday morning I woke up around 6:30!! The College of Business ceremony was at 10:00, oi with the poodles! I wanted to take my time getting ready and not feel rushed. Plus, my dad was planning to be at my apartment early with my grandma and my aunt Kiki. My twin also met us at the apartment. He wanted to make sure he had GREAT seats! He paid for them!

Well, off we went to Strahan Coliseum! When I got to the "waiting cell" I was the first one there! I walked in I saw my advisor, Kenyon Wilson, who has helped me so much! He really was a great advisor! Kenyon asked to take a picture with myself and Brittany Fielder. Brittany was the SIFE President while I was in SIFE. Kenyon said he only asks few students for pictures. He told us we are like family, which made me smile.

After that, that's when all my friends started to arrive! It was so GREAT to hang out with the Crest C3 Team, Jessica, Karen, Adam, Juan and many more I cannot name. It was so surreal knowing we would be walking the stage soon. The whole ceremony was so slow, but went so FAST! I texted the whole time! HA!! Here's a pic of me walking the stage :)
I heard a choir of angels sing, "Hallelujah", I'm just joking. I wanted to do a dance up there! It went way too fast!

After the ceremony, I met my family and friends on the back lawn. I have A LOT of pics, but will only share a few.

One of my best friends, Mouse, drove like a mad women to make it to my graduation! She is such a GREAT friend! I having all the people I love in the world there to support me met so much to me! I loved everything.

God totally gave me each person in my life and I count them as blessing. For lunch we went to Cracker Barrel! Oh yeah, we do it up right! Well, more graduation festivities to come!!
