Time keeps on Slipping

Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of October?!?! Where did the year go? I can't believe I'll be 24 in about 2 weeks....CRAZY!!

Speaking of time and birthdays :) I found this adorable watch!!!

I found this watch at Francesca's Collections. I love the Navy Blue, because it my favorite color. I also love the black and the turquoise. I like how its a mix of sporty/contemporary.

I've had my current watch for over three years. Its a NINE & CO. watch. It has a black leather band with silver face. The band is starting look worn, I guess I should say pleather. My dad bought it for me the Christmas before I transferred to Texas State. I wanted a watch so I wouldn't have to look at my cell phone during class.

Has anyone else found any cute watches around?

There's a First for Everything

Today I tried a Lengua Taco for the First time EVER!!

If you don't know Lengua is Tongue. I couldn't believe it, but it was really good. Caleb one of the guys who I work with bought it for me from the little Taco place across the Street. When I first started here in June he couldn't believe I've never had lengua before. My family didn't eat alot of "mexican food". Never once did my mom or dad make Taco or Enchiladas for dinner.

I did have a weird feeling thinking "the cow is tasting my tongue while I'm tasting his!!!"

Loves..getting voicemails from my mom via Google Talk. She will leave random messages every now & then. Makes me smile and I wish I could go to Ama and hug her!

This is me on a Tuesday morning...at work :)

Sorry for the bad picture. I just had my BB with me today. Everytime I wear my hair curly I think I look a little more Jewish.

My sister sent me an interesting article about how an Mexican American women discovered her family was Jewish decent. One name that kept popping up throughout the whole article was ,Carvajal, which is my grandmother's maiden name.

I'm always told my nose is "ethnic", which I get from my dad and grandma. So who knows, maybe me and my family are part of the Chosen People. With that Said, I love Jesus and know he is the Son of God :)

Cathcing up!

So sorry for the absence...for the 2 people who read this blog :).

The past few weeks have been crazy! My little heart has been in a state of confusion. I am thankful I have the love of Jesus, friends, and seesters to help me through.

In the between the downs their have been many ups, like:

A group of friends going to the Lake for Labor day. There was swimming, eating, and volleyball!!!

Also, last week I came home to a dozen of pink roses. The family I live with are the best! They hear the Holy Spirit so well and wanted me to know how much I am loved. I received a card in it written: Deidra, you are his Beautiful, Beloved, Bride

Also, my Longhorns won this weekend! Victorious over the Texas Tech Raiders! Yes, I am a Bobcat, who loves the Longhorns!!!

I have also started Financial Peace University. Its a 12 week class that takes you through budgeting tools and savings. I mainly took the class to have more Kingdom principles in my finances. I want to give generously and live simply. I can see that in different members of family, and it makes me want to be more like them.

I started this post on TUESDAY, since then my week has gotten much much better. Thankful for his love and everyone in Waco. Another post to come :)

Thought process in 2 seconds:

I reall love the song "Rainbow Connection" -> I really love rainbows -> Singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow -> Wizard of Oz and The Emerald City -> I really miss Seattle -> I really love Seattle and The Rain -> Everytime it rains it's like God is screaming "I LOVE YOU!!!

I May have a Problem

Can you tell I like coffee?

Since it's summer time I love drinking iced coffee. In the beginning of the summer I would use a plastic cup to take to work. Then, Starbucks came out with Clear Cold Tumbler.My Drink stay so cold and the cup is double insulated.

Once it gets colder I will start using my Sweet Seattle thermus. I bought this on my last day in the Emerald City. I walked to the Starbucks in the Rain loving every minute. I miss the walk friendly streets and how Starbucks are EVERYWHERE!!

I use the mug when I make coffee in the office.

A Change Is Coming!!

So for the past 5 years I've been praying for a little Smith baby for these two:For the past 3 years this little "guy" has been my favorite "nephew"



And for the past year I probably brought up wanting a niece or nephew every other day. Okay, maybe it was everyday :)


WELL, in 6 months, I will have real niece or nephew!! ELISE AND AARON ARE PREGNANT!!!

AHHHH, I am so excited. I'm so excited to see meet this baby! So excited to see how much it will love Jesus. Elise and Aaron are going to be awesome parents!

Word cannot express the joy I am feeling right now :)

I'm going to be the coolest aunt ever!
