Today I got up early and went for a run. This weak I haven't been drinking coffee, because I knew my addiction was getting bad. I must say, I've had a few cranky spells and many yawns, but its going pretty well.
Today my sister, Danielle, came into town and we headed north to Austin. We went to our cousins Jerry and Branda's house. My aunt Jeannie and uncle Choch are in town, because they have a new grand baby. Berklee is one of the sweetest cutest babies I have ever met!! Branda and Jerry are good at making cute babies..HA! She is such a little blessing. Her big sister grace is such a cutie! She talks, claps and dances all the time!
While we were there my aunt filled our tummies up with brisket, baked potatoes, homemade mac and cheese, and girl scout cookies!! Everything was DELICIOUS!! My aunt kept piling things on our plate. After we ate we watch the "Golden Girls" and took a short nap! LOVED IT!
Then my new Blackberry Curve, license plates, and tags were finally delivered. The FedEx guy was not very polite and I had to be reminded by my sis to be nice. I'll just say you don't have to be very smart to be a delivery guy...that's not nice. I'm sorry, but its true. we then rushed to the Sprint Store to activate my phone! The sales associates were really nice, especially since we came in 5min before the store closed. Really, I have never been treated so nice at a Sprint Store.
Then Danielle and I headed to the outlets. Danielle got some cute shorts at GAP Outlet. Then we ended the night with Sonic. When we were little in Amarillo our daddy would always take us to get sundaes. It was nice to go there with my sis and call our dad on the phone! His birthday is this Saturday, May 31, he will be 61!!

GRADUATION......Part One!!!!
Well, if you know me, you would know I celebrate my birthday for a week! Well, graduation was no difference. I wanted to make sure I was going to CELEBRATE this milestone in my life!!
Thursday, the day before graduation, was my last day at work. I worked for Dr. Cheatham, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication, for the past two years. I worked with some of the best people. I will miss talking to Kindra and Lisa about school, my relationship with God, boys, parents, and Kassie's High School Days. I will miss talking to Theresa and Liz and hearing all the funny thing that they would talk about. I will miss Kevin oh so much. I hope one day I can do everything he has done in his life...plan wedding, work for Martha Stewart, and for sure he will help me pick my wedding dress..HA! Last, but not least I will miss Dr. Cheatham! He is one of the kindest, sweetest, coolest Dean and person I know. He is so funny and would scare me all the time! This was definitely a GREAT place to work during my school years!
For graduation Kindra gave me a Vera Bradley bag in Texas State colors. I love it soo much! I have carried everyday since. She was too sweet to give me such a sweet gift! The rest of the team gave me a sweet picture frame to put my tassel and picture in. I'll probably give to my dad to hang up in his house. Also, they had doughnut and kolaches for breakfast from Shipley's! If you know me, I love Shipley's, so this was a BIG TREAT!!
I was also blessed to work with Olivia Lopez, who is an advisor. Olivia is my older sister's best friend. I would always go to her office and talk to her when I should have been working. I will definitely miss her next year.
Later, that day my daddy came in and we ran a few errands around town. Then I got some sad news from my brother-in-law and mom saying their flights were cancelled and they wouldn't be able to make my graduation ceremony. That was a real BUMMER!!
Well, that was the beginning of my graduation festivities. next will be the actual day. That day was jammed packed, so it would be to long for one post. Plus, tons of pictures!! I hope you all have a GREAT DAY!!

Chapter 2
Well, the second half of my college career was at Texas State University. I transferred to Texas State in the Spring of 2007, where I was a Marketing Major. When I graduated from High School in 2005, I told myself I would never attend Texas state. The reason why is because my older sister, Elise, attended and graduated from Texas State. It was my mission NOT to be anything like her.
After Amarillo College I prayed, prayed, and prayed about where I should go, and he kept on pointing me to Texas State. I obeyed, not willingly, but sure glad I did. The day before my dad and sis moved me down I was so close to telling my dad I didn't want to go. The first semester a Texas State I had the worst roommate EVER, I will not get into that story.
While at Texas State I have met some awesome people through the ministry I was part of, Chi Alpha Campus Ministry, who are some of my best friends. I will really miss our weekly Thursday night meetings, POD, BBQ's, tailgating and everything else we did! This picture was taken at our Annual Christmas Party. Ani, Lil Steph, and myself were Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Two families really did take me under their wings during my time in San Marcos. The first couple I dod not have a picture of. Their names are Ted and Jan Karr. I met the in January of 2007. I went to High School with their niece Jessica, who also attended Texas State, and we saw each other at the LBJ Center randomly one day. Every Tuesday or Monday night, depending on the semester, we would join them for dinner. I truly enjoyed joining them for diiner for once a week. The short time each week I felt like I was home for a bit. Plus, the food was DELCIOUS!! Jan's shrimp pasta is sooooooo good!
The second family, well is family. Jerry, who is my first cousin on my mom's side, and Branda let me stay the night at their house twice a week my first semester. Every Monday and Wednesday aftaernoon I would drive to Austin with Brands, who also atteneded TxState, and have dinner and quality time with my cousins. Needless to say, I did not spend much time in San Marcos my first semester.
Another BIG part of my collge life was SIFE(Student In Free Enterprise). I know, I know it sounds nerdy, but I loved being part of this oganization. Even though all the projects we did were based on business and capitalism, and we were working on projecs for our yearly competiton, I took so much more from my exprerience. For a whole semester I did community service around San Marcos. I volunteered at Gary Job Corp., LHH, and Crockett Middle School.

Chapter One of "The College Years"
Well, I did it....graduated college in 4 years!! These past year have been the most fun and hardest four years of my life..so far. I really can't wait to see what God does the next four years.
I started my college career at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. I was a Wildcat for a semester, but truly enjoyed all my memories there. When I decided to go to ACU it was a big surprise to everyone, including me. ACU is a private university affiliated with the Church of Christ, which I am not a member.
I truly believed God wanted me to go there for the short time I was there. I learned more about His love and grace that short semester than I had the 18 years before I attended. God opened up the doors financially a week before I was supposed to move to Abilene! He amazes me. I went there with a few kids from Amarillo, who quickly became the people I called family in Abilene. Also, I was blessed with my cousin-in law, Valerie Morby, who lead my Lifegroup while I was there.
After ACU, I attened the community college in Amarillo, Amarillo College or like we called it, Washington University..HA. This was probably the roughest year ever, which is weird because I was hope, but another reason why I am grateful for ACU. The year at home consisted of me finding new friends outside my HS cirlce; also making HS friendships into the strongest ties I have. I also found a new church with a college group and dealt with my parents divorce. The year at home made me see my foundation is NOT in man, but in God. That foundation became stronger more than ever. One thing for sure, Bates, Jordan, Farren and Payne made that year go by quickly with lots of laughs, tears, late night drives, and coffee.

American Idol!! Don't judge.
Yes, I am a HUGE American Idol! Every Tuesday night I allow m self to act like a silly 12 year old girl! Every year I look forward to watching American Idol. My all time fav. is Carrie Underwood. If I had a celebrity best friend it would be Carrie.Anywho, my #1 pick won last night..KRIS ALLEN! To tell you the truth I was not a Kris Allen fan at first, but slowly he made me giggle like a 12 year old girl. HA!! I loved Danny Gokey, but became an Allen fan.
Every Tuesday night I would watch American Idol with the Karr family in New Braunfels! Every week we would have dinner and have our own commentary of each contestant. Wednesday night it was always fun to see who was being kicked off. I usually watched with Ani, or my roomie Elissa. Whenever I had meetings with Crest C3 they allowed me to watch the Result show, as well.
Last night, the FINALE Show had some GREAT performances and some NOT so great. I was able to squeal and giggle with Ani, Javi, and get annoying looks from Austin. This was a a FUN night with some great friends. I love texting Bates, who is one of my closests friends and AI junky, to see what he thought of the show.
YAY for Kris Allen and AI! What will I do with my Tuesday night?!

Well Here I Am
Hello Blog World!
Let me introduce my self:
My name is Deidra and I am a recent graduate of Texas State University - San Marcos. I graduates with a BBA in Marketing where I was involved with Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship and SIFE(Students In Free Enterprise). I've wanted to start a blog for awhile, but never had the time. As of right now, I don't have a job and don't start school til August. So, there is PLENTY of time!
I guess I'll be using this blog to keep friends and family updated with whats going on in this new season of life. Plus anything that catches my eye of interest. I'm SO EXCITED to see what God has planned! I'll fill everyone in with my future plans in another post....soon!
